Genesis House

The shelter has five bedrooms and can provide accommodations for 16 people. While in shelter the families’ basic needs are met including safety, food, and medical care. There is no cost for staying at Genesis House and the program includes counselling, support groups, referrals, and advocacy. Families choosing to live free of violence will also be provided assistance in seeking out housing options in the community of their choice. Families taking part in the program can stay up to 30 days, with follow up counselling and support available to women and children after departure. Genesis House also provides public education about domestic violence to the community when requested.
